Obi Emegano: From Olympian to Leader On and Off the Court

Professional Career
Obi Emegano is a nine-year professional basketball player and Tokyo 2020 Olympian, who most recently played in ACB Spain, one of the top basketball leagues in the world outside the NBA. His professional journey began in 2016 with Casale Monferrato in Italy, and since then, he has competed in premier leagues across France, Italy, and Spain. In 2022, Obi became the captain of Fuenlabrada, finishing as one of the league’s top-three scorers with an average of 15 points per game. A graduate of Oral Roberts University with a degree in Psychology, Obi's career reflects both his on-court leadership and dedication to personal development.

Collegiate Career
Obi made his mark at Oral Roberts University, where he started all 29 games in his senior season. As Preseason Summit League Player of the Year, he led the Summit League with over 23 points per game, ranking 7th nationally. His consistency was unmatched, scoring in double digits for 35 consecutive games and tallying 20+ points in 21 games, including a career-high 38-point performance. Obi left ORU ranked top ten in several categories, including 6th in free throws made in a season and 7th in free throw percentage. Beyond his scoring, he averaged 5 rebounds per game, demonstrating his versatility and well-rounded game.

High School
At Edmond Memorial High School, Obi earned Oklahoma Player of the Year honors and led his team to its first state championship title in 2011, cementing his status as one of the top players in the state.

Beyond Basketball: New Ventures
Off the court, Obi is focused on shaping the next generation of athletes through Wonbyone Elite, his AAU basketball program, where he mentors young talent. He also leads the Mindful Athletic Performance Program (MAPP), combining his background in psychology with his passion for sports to help athletes enhance their mental and physical performance.
