About Obi Emegano

From Pro Hooper to Performance Coach

Obi Emegano is a 9-year professional basketball player, Tokyo 2020 Olympian, and the founder of Wonbyone—a brand dedicated to helping athletes train their minds, not just their bodies.

Born in Nigeria and raised in Oklahoma, Obi took the long road to the pros. After graduating from Oral Roberts University with a degree in Psychology, he built a career competing in top European leagues like Spain's ACB and represented Nigeria on the Olympic stage in Tokyo.

But behind the success was a journey of injuries, setbacks, and mental battles—experiences that shaped what Obi teaches today.

Why I Do This

When you're chasing something big—college, the league, or just your potential—talent isn’t enough. Confidence wavers. Focus drifts. Pressure builds.

After 5 total surgeries, slumps, and seasons overseas, I realized the biggest separator wasn’t talent. It was the mind.

That’s why I created The MAPP™ (Mindset & Performance Process)—a system built for athletes who want to go deeper: in focus, leadership, confidence, and discipline. I now work with hoopers, parents, and teams across the country to deliver the tools I wish I had earlier.

This isn’t therapy. It’s not “rah rah” motivation.
It’s real tools to build real mental toughness—on and off the court.
